quality photos and graphics title

In today’s society, it is more important than ever to use quality photos and graphics in your salon business marketing. Why is it so important? Because people are bombarded all day long with images through social media and if your photo or graphic doesn’t stand out, it is just going to get lost among the thousands of others on your potential customer’s feed.

Be honest, if you are scrolling on social media, are you going to stop your scroll for a shadowy, grainy photo? Will that really stand out to you? No, it won’t! You also won’t be impressed by a graphic that is too busy, has text that is hard to read or is not aesthetically pleasing.

As humans we are drawn to pretty things!! Just like we will stop and spend a few extra minutes to gaze at a colorful sunset, we will stop to look at something on our social media feed that is pretty because it grabs our attention and we are intrigued. As a business owner you want to grab people’s attention and once you have their attention you can show them that you have something they need or want.

Here are some ways to ensure that your photos and graphics are getting the attention of the clients you want to notice your salon business and what you have to offer.

Brighten up your photos

Almost every photo taken with your phone, or camera, can be made better when you lighten it up. Lightroom is a great app and website that you can use to do this. A lot of heavy editing is not required, just increase the brightness. There are also inexpensive presets that you can purchase to use in Lightroom, or you can also find free ones that are really good.

Use consistent branding

When creating graphics with text make sure to use your brand colors and fonts and include your logo if you have one. If all of your graphics use consistent branding then your audience will begin to recognize your posts and associate them with your business. This builds credibility and awareness for your salon business. Create your brand in Canva. Have you ever used it before?

Keep it simple

Don’t cram a lot of text onto a graphic.  People are drawn to simple, easy to read graphics, especially when it comes to text. Don’t feel like you have to include everything , that’s what the caption section is for. For photos, keep it clean and simple. If the photo is busy with a lot going on it will not stand out.

Keep it Real

Lots of businesses use stock photos and that’s okay every once and a while, but your clients want to see pictures of your salon, your clients and you!! Have a photographer take some brand photos of you and your salon at LEAST once a year, so you can share them in your marketing materials and online. Take pictures of your clients and share them so potential clients can see the great work you are doing.
