Lots of salon professionals don't focus on learning new business strategies because they are already successful and think they don't need new ideas or processes.
But the truth is, incorporating new strategies could help you save time, cut back on expenses, bring in more clients and make more money!!
Maybe you saw lots of growth for a few years and you reached the level of success that you had set out to accomplish; then you just set the cruise control and started to coast. Reaching a goal is great, but then it's time to take a step back and set some new goals. To reach those new goals you will need new strategies.
You may be asking, ‘what do you mean when you say new strategies?”.
It could be so many things like:
> using a new business software
> automating and/or streamlining processes
> outsourcing tasks
> taking a course or participating in other forms of professional development
> incorporating new marketing methods
…and so much more.
The idea is to develop processes or systems that allow you to focus on your passion, and what you do best, working with your customers! Incorporating any of the things listed above will help you do that.
Take automating processes for example. If you are not using online booking software, incorporating it will give you back the time that you are now spending to manually book your clients. Or maybe you are, but you aren't running the right reports weekly.
As a salon owner you are an expert when it comes to hair or nail or skin, etc. but more than likely you did not pursue learning business strategies prior to starting your business. This means you may have just done the best you could and learned it all as you went. And that's okay!! But it's never too late to learn more about business.
