holiday burnout

Holiday burnout for salon professionals is a real thing that needs to be addressed.

During the holidays it's tempting for you to work more days or longer hours to fit everyone in, but is the extra money worth it if you are missing out on your own holiday activities and chance to make memories with your family?

There are other ways you can maximize profits during the holiday season without running yourself ragged and burning out.

One way is to offer product incentives and promote them through email and text marketing. Selling more products is a way to make money without adding time to your work day. Reach out to the clients on your text list and email list to let them know about any specials or discounts; if they are still struggling to think of that perfect gift idea your message will be right on time.

You already have a physically demanding job because most of the time being on your feet for 8-10 hours or more! Adding even more hours to that can really push you over the edge.

Aside from the physical burnout, the mental burnout can be even worse! Having back to back appointments and trying to make everyone happy by “squeezing them in” can be mentally draining. Your mind needs rest just like your body does. Even people who have great physical stamina to keep going need a mental break

We are headed full force into the busiest time of the year and I hope you will take a step back, assess your physical and mental health and make any adjustments necessary to protect them both at all costs!
